To help applicants complete the Kenya eTA application correctly, each step of the application form is explained below, from entering personal details to uploading documents and submitting the application.

Apply for Kenya eTA

Step 1: Confirm Eligibility 

Before beginning the application process, the traveller must confirm whether they can apply for a Kenya eTA. To confirm eligibility, the applicant can check the Kenya eTA policy.

Step 2: Fill Out the Visa Application Form

The application form requires applicants to provide the following details: 

• General information: Full name as shown on the passport, nationality, occupation, marital status, phone number and current address.
• Emergency contact: Name and phone number of an emergency contact person.
• eTA type: Select the eTA that matches the purpose of your trip.
• Passport details: Enter the passport number, validity and expiry date.
• Arrival details: Provide the arrival date, select the mode of travel and the port of your arrival in Kenya.
• Declarations and security questions: Answer the questions provided on the form before submitting the application. 

Step 3: Choose a Processing Option 

The Kenya eTA application portal offers 3 processing options to applicants:

• Standard Processing: Receive eTA within 3-5 Days.
• Rush Processing: Receive eTA within 2 - 3 Days.
• Super-Rush Processing: Receive eTA within 1 - 2 Days.

Note: Rush and Super-Rush processing are available for an additional fee.

Step 4: Upload the Required Documents 

The documents required vary depending on the selected Kenya eTA type. The submitted scan copy of the documents must be clear and of high quality. The list of documents required is: 

Common Requirement

1. Passport Bio Page Scan: Passport must be valid for 6 months from the intended date of travel.
2. Digital Photograph: The photo must be taken with a white background, without any glare or shadows. 
3. Round-Trip Travel Ticket (Air, Cruise, Land)

Additional Documents Required by Kenya eTA Type 

1. Business eTA: Invitation letter from the Kenyan employer.
2. Family Visit eTA: Invitation letter from a Kenyan Host along with their ID Card/Passport scan.
3. Work eTA: The employment letter must be issued by the Kenyan organisation.
4. Medical eTA: A medical referral letter issued by a licensed health care provider from the applicant's home country, referring the applicant for treatment in Kenya.
5. Student eTA: Admission letter issued by a recognised school, college or university in Kenya.
6. Crew eTA (Plan or Ship): Along with scan of host id, applicants are required to provide the following applicable documents: 
   • Aircrew members: Requires a scanned copy of their valid, airline-issued identity card proving they are active crew members.
   • The sea crew needs to provide any one of the following documents:
   • Scan copy of the valid crew-identity card issued by the shipowner.
   • Scanned copy of the valid seafarer’s identification and record book.
7. Seaman eTA (fishing vessel): Submit scans of either a valid crew ID card or a seamen book along with host ID card.

Step 5: Pay the Kenya eTA Fee 

Pay the Kenya eTA fee by using a credit or debit card or another accepted payment method. 

The fee includes the visa cost, service fee and any selected rush or super-rush fee. 

After payment, applicants receive an order ID to track the application and get status updates by email.

Step 6: Submit the Application

Once the payment is completed, the application is submitted for processing. Our visa professionals carefully review the application and submitted documents to identify any errors or missing information.
