Who Can Apply?

Travellers holding a valid passport from an eligible country can apply for a Kenya eTA. Before applying, applicants are advised to check the Kenya eTA policy to verify whether their nationality qualifies.

Kenya Multiple-Entry eTA Types

Applicants must choose from the following Kenya Multiple-Entry eTA types, depending on the purpose of their trip:

  • Transit eTA: For travellers passing through Kenya to a third country.
  • Tourist eTA: For holidays, safaris, beach trips, and sightseeing.
  • Student eTA: For international students planning to study at Kenyan institutions.
  • Business eTA: For attending meetings, trade visits, and other professional activities.
  • Medical eTA: For those travelling to Kenya for medical treatment or healthcare.
  • Work eTA: For working individuals entering Kenya for approved employment or contract-based work.
  • Religious Visit eTA: For religious missions, pilgrimages, or faith-based visits.
  • Positioning Crew eTA: For air or ship crew joining or reporting for duty.
  • Seaman eTA: For seafarers working on or joining vessels in Kenya.
  • Family Visit eTA: For visiting family members & friends in Kenya.
  • Crew eTA (Planes or Ships): For airline or maritime crew on official duty.
  • Conference eTA: For attending conferences, seminars, workshops, or events.

Validity & Duration of Stay

  • Validity Period: The Kenya multiple-entry eTA is valid for up to 1 year from the date of issuance.
  • Permitted Stay: It allows a stay of up to 90 days per entry.

Example: If a Kenya eTA with a 1-year validity period is issued on January 9, 2026, you can enter Kenya any number of times until January 9, 2027, with each visit allowing a stay of up to 90 days after arrival.
