The Kenya Student eTA is an electronic travel authorisation for eligible foreign nationals travelling to Kenya for study or academic purposes. It allows students to complete the travel authorisation process online before travelling to Kenya.

Kenya Student eTA Application Requirements
The applicants are required to submit:
- Passport Bio Page: A clear scan of the passport page showing the applicant’s passport details and photo.
- Applicant Photo: A recent passport-style photograph of the applicant with full face visible.
- Accommodation Proof: Submit a hotel booking or a guest house booking as a proof of where the student will stay in Kenya.
- Round-Trip Travel Booking: A confirmed airline or cruise booking is required if travelling by air or cruise respectively.
- If travelling by road: Submit either a bus ticket, a confirmed tour operator booking or a travel request letter (for those travelling in their own vehicle)
- Admission Letter: An official letter confirming your admission to a recognised school, college, or university in Kenya.

Who Can Apply for a Kenya Student eTA?
You need a Kenya Student eTA if you fulfil the following 2 conditions:
- You have been accepted into a school, university, or educational institution in Kenya.
- You are from a country eligible for the Kenya eTA system.
FAQ: Can I work while studying in Kenya?
No. A Student eTA does not automatically permit employment unless separately
authorised.

Currently, USA passport holders can only apply for a single-entry student eTA.

Kenya Student eTA Application Steps
The application process is fully online and can be completed in a few steps.
Step 1: Fill Out the Application Form: Enter the passport, travel and other request details. From the eTA type drop-down menu, select student eTA.
Step 2: Upload Required Documents: All the required documents must be uploaded. If, during processing, more documents are required, Kenya eTA support will contact the applicant.
Step 3: Receive Your eTA: After approval, the Kenya Student eTA will be sent to the applicant's registered email address. Save or print a copy before travelling.

Processing time depends on the service option selected.
- Standard Processing: 3-5 Days
- Rush Processing: 2 - 3 Days
- Super Rush Processing: 1 - 2 Days
