The Kenya Student eTA is an electronic travel authorisation issued to eligible foreign nationals travelling to Kenya for study purposes or to attend academic programmes.

It allows students to receive travel approval online before entering the country.

• Accommodation docs/letter by sponsor
• Applicant Photo
• Airline/cruise/other booking confirmation
• Letter of admission to school/college/university

Who Can Apply for a Kenya Student eTA?

You need a Kenya Student eTA if you fulfil the following 2 conditions: 

• You have been accepted into a school, university, or educational institution in Kenya.
• You are from a country eligible for the Kenya eTA system.

FAQ: Can I work while studying in Kenya? 
No. A Student eTA does not automatically permit employment unless separately authorised.

Kenya Student eTA Type, Validity and Stay Duration

Currently, USA passport holders can only apply for a single-entry student eTA. 

Kenya Student eTA Application Steps

The application process is fully online and can be completed in a few steps.

Step 1: Fill Out the Application Form: Enter the passport, travel and other request details. From the eTA type drop-down menu, select student eTA.

Step 2: Upload Required Documents: All the required documents must be uploaded. If, during processing, more documents are required, Kenya eTA support will contact the applicant.

Step 3: Receive Your eTA: After approval, the Kenya Student eTA will be sent to the applicant's registered email address. Save or print a copy before travelling.

Kenya Student eTA Processing Time and Fees

Processing time depends on the service option selected.

• Standard Processing: 3-5 Days
• Rush Processing: 2 - 3 Days
• Super Rush Processing: 1 - 2 Days

The total fee for a Kenya Student eTA depends on the entry type applied for and the processing option selected.

Tracking Kenya Student eTA Application 

The application can be tracked by regularly checking the registered email ID, contacting Israel eTA support, or using the status tracker tool available on the portal.
