Kenya Religious Visit eTA

Those travelling to Kenya for religious purposes, such as pilgrimages, religious events, or ceremonies, can apply for a Kenya Religious Visit eTA, depending on their eligibility. The application can be completed online in minutes, and the authorisation must be obtained before departure.

Who Can Apply?

Eligibility for the Kenya eTA is determined by nationality. Applicants should refer to the Kenya eTA policy to confirm whether their country is eligible to apply.

Note: This eTA is solely valid for religious purposes and does not permit any type of employment.

What to Submit?

Applicants must submit scanned copies of the following: 

Passport Bio-data Page Scan

Every detail must be legible, and the passport must be valid for at least 6 months after arrival in Kenya.

Applicant Photograph

A digital photograph that reflects your current appearance. It should be in colour and free of glare.

Accommodation Documents

A confirmed hotel booking or a letter from the sponsor confirming your stay in Kenya.

Airline/Cruise Booking

A travel booking confirmation showing your planned arrival and departure.

Point to Note: Kenya eTA requirements tend to change, so travellers should stay up to date to avoid delays and inconvenience.

How to Apply

  • Fill the Form & Select eTA Type: Fill in your personal and travel details in the Kenya eTA application form, then select Religious Visit eTA as your eTA type.
  • Upload Documents & Make Payment: Provide clear copies of the required documents and pay the eTA fee securely using an acceptable payment option.
  • Check Email & Receive your eTA: Receive your approved Kenya Religious Visit eTA via email.

Can I apply for a Kenya Religious Visit eTA on behalf of my spouse within the same application?
Yes, you can apply for your spouse under a single application by using the “Add applicant” option. Your spouse will receive a separate eTA.

Kenya Religious Visit eTA Processing Times

  • Normal Processing: 3-5 Days
  • Rush Processing: 2 - 3 Days
  • Super Rush Processing: 1 - 2 Days

Factors Affecting the Kenya eTA Fee

Processing Speed: Choosing Rush or Super Rush (expedited) processing will incur additional fees, which will be added to the total Kenya eTA cost at the time of payment.

Validity Period: The fee also varies depending on the validity period you select for your Kenya Religious Visit eTA.

Kenya eTA Extension

To extend your permitted stay in Kenya, you should contact the Kenya Department of Immigration Services in Nairobi to confirm if you’re eligible for an extension and to receive further guidance.

How to Track the Kenya eTA Application

There are 3 ways to know your Kenya eTA application status.

  • You’ll receive regular email notifications about your current eTA application status. Make sure to check your inbox, including your spam folder, so that you don’t miss any updates.
  • Use the application tracking feature on the Kenya eTA portal and enter your passport number and other required details to view your application progress.
  • Contact the Kenya eTA support if you face issues or need assistance with tracking your application status.
